Today's high-capacity, high-performance systems demand deeper support.
Our four-step process ensures your system is ready to perform, before the first user is onboard. This process includes:
1. Discovery and planning
2. Scripting
3. Stress-testing/tuning sessions
4. Reporting
Discovery and planning
During discovery sessions we learn your site's structure; discuss possible usage patterns, traffic requirements, and usage scenario combinations; and analyze available historical logs to precisely model usage patterns. After this session, the load plan includes:
- Stress-test goals
- Load tools definition
- Stress-test scripts
- A plan for each script
- Timelines
Scripting
During this stage, Digital Edge develops all required scripts. Scripts belong to the client and can
be reused
any time stress-testing must be performed. These scripts can include: automated user generation, dynamic user rotations, dynamic wait times, and other advanced techniques.
Stress-testing/tuning sessions
At this point we perform actual stress-tests. We are not bound to load running sessions and perform as many as necessary. (Most competitors define a set number of load sessions and run only these, regardless of results.) Instead, Digital Edge will stop, tune, and rerun as many times as needed. Additionally, we can change load duration and frequency. We simultaneously record basic performance parameters and verify that the results meet all "Stress-testing Goals." If they don't, we use Digital Edge's bottleneck identification methodology to determine the slowness’ cause, and all possible resolutions. We then repeat load tests/tuning actions until all goals are met.
