Position Overview:
Digital Edge is looking for an experienced Datacenter System Administrator who is skilled in performing complex problem-solving with minimal direction and collaborating with a variety of teams to support existing core infrastructure, integrate new systems with existing infrastructure, troubleshoot arising problems and perform scheduled support and maintenance procedures. This position requires who is able to manage infrastructure related projects end to end, be able to adapt to changes in technology, learn new tools and techniques. The candidate must have an experience supporting production environments, understand change control, sensitivity of information, security compliance.
We are also looking to consider DBAs with strong system administration and production support skills.
Responsibilities:

Perform complex problem-solving, determine and resolve systems issues ranging from network and security to operating system and platform configuration

Collaborate with other engineers and technology specialists on system design and implementations

Work with various data center teams to implement networking and other infrastructure related changes

Understand Digital Edge Datacenter management platform, learn monitoring processes and methodology, alerts, thresholds and escalation procedures.

Understand change control, participate in change management, confirm to change processes.

Determine necessary maintenance schedules required to maintain systems and ensure work is completed as specified

Ensure the overall health of infrastructure services and hardware

Develop and execute on maintenance plans across the environment, including deployment of security updates, security management, capacity/usage assessments, batch processing, and operating system and platform evolution planning

Understand security aspects, enforce company security policies and other compliance requirements
Required Skills:

Unix/Linux (any flavor)

Windows Servers

Scripting skills

Understanding of Windows/Unix security models

Understanding server hardware – HP, DELL , Sun etc.

Understanding storage: RAID, SAN, fiber, iSCSI, multi-pathing, volumes, storage policies etc (EMC, 3PAR, NetApp is a plus)

Understanding IDS/IPS, sniffing, penetration testing and other network and application level security

Understanding stress testing and related tools.
